The owner, living primarily by himself wanted the ability to accommodate a constant rotation of guests passing through New York while maintaining privacy for himself. In response, the apartment design is organized into two zones divided by a central core of utilities that serves to both separate and transition between the distinct areas of the apartment. The core is clearly articulated through complimentary but distinct detailing.
